I can't think of an American designer who better captures the American spirit than Ralph Lauren. His talent as a clothing designer has stood the test of time, as his collections are always classic with a nod towards Bohemian Luxe and Sporty Chic. He segued into the home decor market and took it by storm. His newest venture - restaurants - will surely be an added notch on his belt... concho I'll bet.
This past April, Ralph Lauren opened a flagship store and restaurant "Ralph's" on the Boulevard Saint Germain des Pres in Paris. I'm still disappointed we didn't go while we were there, but lunch in the courtyard is on my must-do list for the next visit!
The ranch home of Ralph and Ricky Lauren in Colorado is my favorite since it represents the quintessential RL look. Navajo blankets, Native American photographs, and of course, concho belts.
Or they can choose from one of several teepees.
One of my first memories of clothing lust was over a Ralph Lauren concho belt when I was a teenager. I eventually did get a version (not RL) that I wore to death. I think of this as his signature piece and it's still available in several styles on his website. I think they're still super cool.
Speaking of high school, when I came across this photo of Lauren's first fragrance the memories of school dances (and those awful 80's hairstyles and outfits) and first dates all came flooding back. Usually, it's a scent - not a photo of a scent -that conjures such vivid memories!
